New Nike Method Mod 90 Putter Review | A Modern Spin

The Nike Method Mod 90 is a "Modern" spin on a classic design. This putter reminds of the older putters, a flat piece of metal on the end of a stick, the "flatstick". The difference being the flat piece of metal on this putter is Nike's new Polymetal Groove Technology.

We were able to take a range of classic designs and make them perform like modern putters,” says David Franklin, Nike Golf Master Modelmaker. “We incorporated Polymetal Groove technology, which allows athletes to lift the ball, launch it and turn it forward as quickly as possible for a truer roll.  We removed weight from the center, placing it in the heel and toe instead for a lower and deeper center of gravity. It’s Nike’s interpretation on classic, familiar shapes.”

After spending hours on the putting green, and playing many rounds with this putter I have made this a permanent fixture in my bag. I'm the guy that can get to the par-5 in 2, and end up with a bogey. This putter has changed that.

Looks:

Like I said earlier, the Method Mod 90 looks like a piece of metal on the end of a stick. It looks like a traditional flatstick. I love the look of this putter. the "90" means that this putter has a 90* toe hang. I really like the look at address. It's hard for me to explain, but the face looks very flat. Maybe it is just the way my eye lines up, but this makes alignment really easy for me. You will notice the milled face and the red polymer insert. This putter looks great.

Feel:

This putter feels as good as any putter on center hits. I let several of my friends who are Scotty only players use this, and they agreed with me. The only problem with the feel is on off center hits, you definitely feel it. So as long as you hit the putter on center, you will be extremely pleased.

Performance:

This putter makes alignment very easy, and center hits feel amazing. Combine these two features and you have a lethal weapon on the greens. As I mentioned earlier, this putter has taken strokes off of my game almost instantly. Speed is easy to control. Alignment as I said is easy. This putter performs as good as any putter I have played.

Final Thoughts:

Nike has hit a homerun with this putter. I love the mix of traditional and modern looks. This putter has the potential to make good putters great. I would recommend this putter to any golfer. It has significantly improved my putting, and I think it would do the same for you.
